Undergrowth With Two Figures

Vincent Van Gogh, 1890

A month or so ago I visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art and saw their Van Gogh exhibit. This painting was part of the collection, and I had never seen it before. It's so awesome!

The Barnes Foundation

The Peasants by Picasso, 1906

The Postman (Joseph-Étienne Roulin) by Van Gogh, 1889

I visited The Barnes Foundation last Friday. These are a few of the paintings that I liked from the collection. It's amazing the amount of art that Dr. Barnes collected, and from a lot of artistic legends none the less. I'm glad that I got the chance to go before the paintings are moved into the city. You can see Dr. Barnes' full collection of paintings online at The Barnes Foundation website.

Van Gogh

Vase with Irises, 1890

Mountainous Landscape Behind Saint Paul Hospital, 1889

Vase with Oleanders and Books, 1888

Crab on Its Back, 1889

Irises, 1889

Vincent van Gogh, a very troubled artist born in Holland in 1853, who later moved to Paris in 1886. The work I've shown above is with out a doubt his Impressionist paintings, with waves of color and life. He loved to paint flowers, mostly still lifes of flowers in vases.
