Still stuck in the Halloween spirit.

Rose Haywood

Rose Haywood is one of my artsy friends. She is a very talented illustrator and artist. I love her illustrations. I chose to post some of her work in the spirit of Halloween. Love you Morose!

You and I

Käthe Kollwitz

Unemployment, 1909

Revolt, 1899

The Mothers, 1921

Kollwitz is known for her depictions of poverty and suffering during the turbulent years of world war. I really like her minimal use of color. She managed to beautifully broadcast the dark depression of this time period.
